I Love Cotton Yarn!

It is said that cotton yarn is good for working with in warmer weather.  Well, I work with it all year ’round!  I prefer it above all else.  Here’s the evidence:

I think this is all of it . . . not counting size 10 thread, that is. 😀

These are my favorites.

Village Craft Cotton

Village Yarn Caribbean Cotton

Herrschners Cotton a la Mode

Village Craft Cotton Cone

As well as the standard Peaches & Creme and Lily Sugar’n Cream I sometimes buy Bernat Handicrafter Cotton.  I don’t normally buy anything unless I can get a bargain, and when I do . . . look out!

To the point.  I dragged all this out because I found a really cute pattern I want to try.  Actually, I want to make several.  A bunch of family and friends are going camping the weekend after the 4th, and I am sure these will be a big hit!

Free Crochet Pattern: Coozie.  This crochet frisbee can fold up to fit in your pocket! Soft and child-friendly, it makes a great gift.

Recommended yarn for this project:  *Lion® Cotton (Article #760). 100% Cotton; package size: Solids: 5 oz./140g; 236yd/212m balls
Multi: 4 oz/113g; 189 yd/170m balls.

If you click on the photo, it will take you to the free pattern.  Although, to download it you must be registered at Lion Brand’s website.  It’s a great site for free patterns!

So, tell me what you think.  I should be able to get a few funky coozies outta my stash, right?!  Better get busy!  I still have another project to finish and post this weekend.

Toodles!

About gmaellenscraftycorner

I am a recently widowed, mother of three wonderful, grown children, G-Ma (Grandma) to seven beautiful grandchildren. I work full time at a nearby grocer as the Pricing Coordinator. In my spare time, I craft and blog. Crochet is my obsession, my compulsion. My best friend, my therapist. I also have learned I love to knit! Who knew??? I may never be a master knitter, but I am a happy knitter. :D Work, family, Women's Pool League, crafting and blogging. Pretty much takes up every waking minute of every day, but besides that I love movies and music (which I can enjoy while I am crafting!). And here I thought I didn't have a life! Thank you so much for taking the time to visit my blog. I appreciate every click. :D My Etsy www.etsy.com/shop/gmaellen

  1. I like cotton too. Followed by Carons’ bamboo/acrylic mix.

I’d say you could outfit the whole Olympic TM Team with coozies… quite impressive stash you got there. 🙂

  3. What a great pattern. Me being doubtful, does it really work? I kind of hope it doesn’t because otherwise I am going to have to make quite a few of these! Thanks for sharing.
