Made to Order Shawl . . .

I recently completed a special order shawl for a customer on  I am very excited to share it with you!

Interweave Crochet ‘Accessories’ Special Issue 2011

Maxine Shawl (center), by Anastasia Popova. Photo, page 80. Pattern, page 92.

I started out with “Maxine Shawl” pattern, crocheted to what may be a little larger than specs, but . . . that just leaves more room to wrap!  Right?!  Then I fringed the shawl, per customer request.

The customer chose the yarn.  A fabulous choice if you ask me.  Lion Brand Homespun Yarn, color: Purple Haze.  I love it!  I used a size “P” hook, and got busy.

I’m afraid none of my photos are really doing this piece justice.  I need a gorgeous model in a stunning setting. (lol)

The fringe will fray out naturally and look like (for lack of a better description) a horse’s mane.

80 x 40 inches, not including the 8 inch fringe. (I didn’t realize it was so big!)

Here is a link to purchase the magazine which has the pattern shown in the picture above (Maxine Shawl):

Well, there you have it.  If anyone is interested in taking a look at my etsy shop:  (Custom orders welcome, at my discretion.  Contact me there.)
