I am so glad I didn’t just empty my junk file!  I would never have known!  Interested in what I had to say???  Here’s the link to my story:

About gmaellenscraftycorner

I am a recently widowed, mother of three wonderful, grown children, G-Ma (Grandma) to seven beautiful grandchildren. I work full time at a nearby grocer as the Pricing Coordinator. In my spare time, I craft and blog. Crochet is my obsession, my compulsion. My best friend, my therapist. I also have learned I love to knit! Who knew??? I may never be a master knitter, but I am a happy knitter. :D Work, family, Women's Pool League, crafting and blogging. Pretty much takes up every waking minute of every day, but besides that I love movies and music (which I can enjoy while I am crafting!). And here I thought I didn't have a life! Thank you so much for taking the time to visit my blog. I appreciate every click. :D My Etsy www.etsy.com/shop/gmaellen

  1. Thank you for this – I added my thoughts too.

    Hi!
I’m not a gramma yet, but I love to crochet, amongst other things I love doing. I saw the loveliest pattern online, but since I’m from South Africa, and our yarn is sold by weight and not by length, I was wondering if perhaps you know where I can find out how to convert and see which yarn I should use over here… I’ve searched google till my eyes crossed, but I haven’t found what I’m looking for. There are plenty of sites telling you which size hook to use on which thickness of yarn…
I would really appreciate it if you might put me on the right track.

    • Hi Anita! Wow, that is a question! I am sure I do not know the answer to your question, but maybe if we put it out there someone else reading this post will!

Besides Google, have you also tried Pinterest? You might be surprised what you find there.

Perhaps there is a craft store or yarn store nearby? Surely someone there would be able to help you.

I don’t presume to know what your community is like, but perhaps there is a craft ‘circle’ or group that could help.

A Yahoo! Group maybe. Sign up here: http://groups.yahoo.com/

I hope I have been a little bit of help Anita. Let us know how you fare!
