Native American Art and Alaskan Native art is a virtual art program serving Alaska Native artists.

The website was established by Sealaska Heritage Institute, a regional Native nonprofit founded in 1981 to perpetuate and enhance Tlingit, Haida and Tsimshian cultures.

Tlingit war helmet featuring Wolf. Helmet carved on alder.

Print of Frog, based on a drawing by the artist’s grandmother, Frances L. Paul, who sketched it from a design she saw on a woven Spruce root hat.

I am very proud of my Alaska Native Heritage.  And I am so happy to be able to share some with you today.

Please go to the website and take a look around.  There are so many fabulous offerings there.  This posting is just a very small sampling of creative art.  All available to purchase:

Oh, and just in case you were interested in knowing, I am one-half Tsimshian on my mother’s side, one-quarter Tlingit on my father’s.  Not to be forgotten, one-quarter Norwegian, my paternal grandfather Ole emigrated from Norway.

About gmaellenscraftycorner

I am a recently widowed, mother of three wonderful, grown children, G-Ma (Grandma) to seven beautiful grandchildren. I work full time at a nearby grocer as the Pricing Coordinator. In my spare time, I craft and blog. Crochet is my obsession, my compulsion. My best friend, my therapist. I also have learned I love to knit! Who knew??? I may never be a master knitter, but I am a happy knitter. :D Work, family, Women's Pool League, crafting and blogging. Pretty much takes up every waking minute of every day, but besides that I love movies and music (which I can enjoy while I am crafting!). And here I thought I didn't have a life! Thank you so much for taking the time to visit my blog. I appreciate every click. :D My Etsy
