While I was busy getting my crochet and knitting books all put nicely on a relocated shelf the other day, I came across a few books I had totally forgotten about! It was like Christmas all over! So, I thought I would share just a few of the nice surprises I came across. In particular today . . . vintage crochet books. \o/

Check out the ads in this vintage crochet mag.

This from my Gramma Lucy as well.

I like this, although I am not a big ‘fillet’ fan.

I purchased this reproduction full of crochet lace.

From my Gramma Lucy’s library.

I made a table runner with this pattern years ago and gave it as a Wedding Gift. Now, I think I would like to make another!
And here, a bird’s eye view of my collection . . .

All of my Knitting Books, plus a few magazines I have purchased recently.

I was curious about the magazines, so I counted. Just over 100. Not too bad, I think. Considering I have been collecting them since the late 70′s!

Most of my Crochet Books

I think I still may have more books and/or magazines downstairs . . . somewhere.

More Crochet. Far left is all Christmas. In the center, binders full of patterns I have printed or copied.
My library is beginning to be a little bit overwhelming. I am trying to learn how to say “NO” to myself. :D I think, just one more Crochet Bible of Stitches and I’ll be good.
Some days I sit for hours just going through my library. Some days it’s books . . . some days magazines. Most every work day I pick one or two to take to work with me. I enjoy taking time during my breaks and lunch to study patterns and stitches.
Well, thanks for stopping by! You know how I love to share!

About gmaellenscraftycorner
May 17, 2013 brought my family some devastating news. Sudden illness has brought together a family I thought couln't possibly get any closer.
My loving husband of 36 years has been diagnosed with Stage IV Liver Cancer.
As recently as Christmas all was going pretty well with his liver issues, then he started experiencing some pain that would come and go. It took a few weeks of convincing before he finally called the Dr.s office. Sadly, the Doctor delivered the diagnosis . . . 3 to 6 months.
Please, keep my husband and our family in your thoughts and prayers. We are making the most of each and every minute of every day!

I am married and mother of three wonderful children, G-Ma (Grandma) to seven beautiful grandchildren.
I work full time at a nearby grocer as the Pricing Coordinator.
In my spare time, I craft and blog. Crochet is my obsession, my compulsion. My best friend, my therapist. I also have learned I love to knit! Who knew??? I may never be a master knitter, but I am a happy knitter. :D
I finally decided in March of 2011 to try my hand at selling my crafty work on Etsy (www.etsy.com/shop/gmaellen) and . . . it takes a lot of focus and determination. And time.
During the fall and winter months, (actually on into spring as well) I take part in an organized women's pool league in my area. I have been playing pool on the league for about 35 years. For the past several years my lovely and talented daughter has been playing on my team as well. This makes me very happy. My husband and sons play on the men's league as well so we are a pool playin' family! The family that plays together, stays together!
Work, family, pool and crafting and blogging. Pretty much takes up every waking minute of every day, but besides that I love movies and music (which I can enjoy while I am crafting!). And here I thought I didn't have a life!
Thank you so much for taking the time to visit my blog. I appreciate every click. :D
Very jealous. The patterns look lovely. Looking forward to seeing you make the runner.
Thanks! I can’t wait either!
